Skateboard Innovators, Inspiring Communities Around The World

About Us

THE KICKFLIP SKATEBOARD & CO

The KickFlip Skateboard & Company Mission

KickFlip The Skateboard is a nonprofit organization empowering youth through skateboarding and art. Based in San Francisco and LA, we foster creativity, self-expression and confidence. Our Shred and Paint program integrates skateboarding and art classes in local schools, promoting teamwork, problem-solving and critical thinking.
We’re fiscally sponsored by Fractured Atlas, allowing us to receive tax-deductible donations. Globally, we partner with Skatepro (Denmark) for skateboarding resources. Locally, we collaborate with Vans (skateboarding apparel) and Blick Art Supplies (art materials).

More About the Build

Our Vision

The Skateboard Innovators warmly invite you to join us in our vision of transforming the art concept, Galactica, an Interstellar Skateboard into a large-scale wooden art structure, aptly named ‘Kickflip’ for community skateparks and art events in California. The skateboard is a testament to precision and extensive detail. For example, the skateboard is 30 feet in length, 8 feet in width, and rising 8 feet in elevation from the ground, the structure promises to incorporate every imaginable aspect of Skateboard technology.

Interaction and Participatory Art Structure

From atop of Kickflip event goers will have the golden opportunity to connect with the mythical creatures (Grip Tape), that Galactica garnered from numerous galaxies throughout space. Below the structure, in an area we call Kickflip event goers are welcome to walk or climb to appreciate the hand-painted art canvases, that are the fruits of collaborations from diverse communities throughout California.

Our Mission

The Skateboard Innovators mission is to bring together people from all walks of life to have meaningful conversations, inspire creativity, and build a community that values diversity, inclusivity, and social change. Through thought-provoking discussions, personal stories, and creative expressions, we aim to empower listeners to use their voices, talents, and passion to make a positive change. We’ll amplify marginalized voices and foster a Cultural of empathy and understanding. If we fail, we will try it again and will inspire others to do the same.

Community Support & Donors

Realizing the vision of the Kickflip, demands an immense effort from the Skateboard Innovators, a task we unfortunately cannot tackle single-handedly. Driven by our tenacity and perseverance, we respectfully solicit the help of from our communities, families, and friends through donations. Your generous contributions will equip us to breathe life into the Kickflip art concept and will pave the way for showcasing talents from communities that are frequently overlooked.

Funding

The funds raised will play a crucial role in numerous aspects of the project. For example, renting a space in San Francisco for construction, managing advertising costs, and handling fees associated with the development of construction and building plans.

The donations will also facilitate the procurement of essential materials necessary for building the structure, like screws, bolts, beams, wood, and electronic equipment. Additionally, the funding will significantly assist us in transporting this unique art piece to a variety of art events throughout California and assist with the purchase of art supplies for children’s use.

Fundraising for such a substantial project is undoubtedly challenging. Therefore, we, the Skateboard Innovators, humbly ask for your assistance in realizing this project. Your generous contributions will help us bring Kickflip, to life and introduce it to communities near you.
